Our school serves children in grades pre-k to 5th grade. Many of our students are 1st and 2nd generation immigrants who are new to the English language. Some of students are currently living in transitional housing. Additionally, we have a large special needs population.
Our students love to be in school and to learn!
The students love coming to school every day because they have a sense of family and support given from every staff member in the building. We have a very warm-hearted staff who treat each child as an individual. The children all treat one another with respect as well.
My Project
The walking tour students will go on in Philadelphia will provide them with a firsthand experience of what colonial America was really like. They will be able to walk on cobblestone streets and see original architecture from the time period. They will also see a working printing press and the site of Benjamin Franklin's first post office. Students will also get to tour Betsey Ross' home, which will give them a perspective on what daily living was like during the 18th century. Students will also get to explore the National Constitutional Center and see how the government created by our Founding Fathers still holds true today. Finally, students will also visit Independent Hall, and see where the actual signing of the Declaration of Independence was.
This trip will be something they will most likely never have the opportunity to go on again.
It will also represent the importance that we place on education and our students' hard work. Please help our students to go to Philadelphia!
