Our school serves a rural community where more than seventy-five percent of the students come from low-income homes or are children of migrant farm workers. We are dedicating to preparing our students to be globally competitive; however, we have a technology and information gap to fill before we can achieve our goal.
Our students are enthusiastic learners who crave the opportunity to learn more about the world beyond our rural community.
Our county was devastated by Hurricane Florence, and we are working hard to make life as normal as possible for our students. Many of them were displaced by the storm or suffered some personal loss, so we are trying to make our classrooms as engaging as possible.
My Project
We are hoping to purchase ReTrak Utopia Virtual Reality headsets that will allow our students to participate in virtual reality educational field trips where they will get to places like museums and universities. We will have access to guest speakers that would never be able to get to our tiny town.
Thanks to the ReTrak Utopia virtual reality viewers, our students will no longer be limited in their ability to explore the world beyond our county.
Many of our students have never been to a large city or visited a museum. These viewers will allow us to take weekly field trips for free.
