My students are part of small town and a small school. They are loving and eager to learn! For some of the students school is their safe place where all their worries can go away.
While in my classroom my students are able to explore the type of learning that works best for them.
My goal is for each one of them to feel confident and comfortable in reaching their own educational goals. I love seeing them reach their goals by working hard and believing in themselves.
My Project
When students are given choices that lets them take control of their learning positive things start happening. One of the easy choices they can make is where they learn best by using flexible seating. My classroom is currently set up with traditional seating, but the choice is given for students to use clipboards, dry erase boards and the tops of benches as their places to work throughout the classroom. Letting them chose has helped them become more engaged in the lesson.
Flexibility is important in education and it is evident that even the seating needs to be flexible.
I chose products that will give my students different seating options. The wobble cushions I chose are perfect for the students that need to move around while thinking. These cushions will help them stay focused on their work without distracting others. The stretch bands help in the same way while a student is sitting in a traditional desk. The reclining low chairs and lap desks will provide a more comfortable seating area that can be moved around the whole room!
I have seen a positive affect in giving my students choice in their seating and adding more options will help them reach their own educational goals.
