Help me give my students literacy materials like the letter recognition center, phonemic awareness game, I can build simple words set and a 20 pack of the my letters alive journal; it will enhance my "prescholars" pre-reading skills!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"A teachers heart for students can create a world of ambitious young minds." I am a teacher of eighteen mixed age group of 3, 4 and 5 year old awesome "prescholars". While my "prescholars" are mixed in age range they are enthusiastic, kind, loving and eager to learn individuals! Each student has their own unique gifts and talents that they display through everyday physical, social-emotional and academic skills. My 3 year old "prescholars" may be working on learning routines and self-help skills, while my 4 year olds are identifing their names and my 5 year olds are identifying letters and sounds. Having materials in order for me to differentiate lessons and materials available for each age level to explore is essential to their academic growth. The students in my classroom are always excited about new activities to explore. We enjoy hands-on learning in a cooperative environment. Our students interact with each other as a "School Family" insuring that all students feel welcomed and loved.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting will help enhance our new literacy center. I will be using these materials such as the phonemic awareness folder game I requested as a teacher to lead a large group learning activity. I will also utilize the materials as small group activities. One of many lessons that I'm planning for small group is helping my preschoolers to recognize their names as a whole as well as the letters in their name. Using the My Letter journal that I have requested will help students identify letters of the week and also understand beginning sounds of words. They will also develop emergent writing skills using this journal, as they explore how to form each letter. The donation will make a difference in my students life by helping them gain a jump start to having an awareness of print, develop letter recognition and sound; which will promote & expand their reading and writing literacy skills. They will be Kindergarten ready!
