Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day in my class would be greeting every student as they walk in and start off our day on a good note. Creating a ️️since of family in my classroom is very important. We are all friends and we help each other succeed in all areas as well as making sure each student has great character.
My goal is to create safe, respectful, and responsible students.
I believe and create an environment where students can feel safe and have a since of a family. The majority of my students deal with economic and emotional hardships. Being in a low income community most of my students don't have the resources and a safe place at home. Before I can start teaching I make sure all my students are in a good place and ready for the day.
My Project
The materials and resources (habitats, the solar system, and the human body kits) I have selected for my classroom will help my students improve their reading and vocabulary skills. They will be able to practice and have exposure to science themes which will expand their learning and knowledge. The materials will be used in small group centers where they can read and practice their new knowledge with their peers. They will be able to read and have meaningful discussions using the resources provided.
Since my students live a low economic community most of them do not have the experience, vocabulary, and back ground knowledge they need to be successful in their education.
Having these resources will give them the opportunity to build their background knowledge and expand their vocabulary.
