This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergartners are eager to be the BEST: the best class, the best learners, the best friends, the best runners, the best GoNoodle dancers, the best mathematicians, the best scientists, and of course, the best students. Help me give my students the tools needed to help them be the BEST.
Being a Title I school, we are a school that has free breakfast and lunch for all students, and try our best to offer everything we can to help our students be successful both in and out of the classroom.
My students are a quirky group of kindergartners who are growing into confident learners.
Each one of them brings something important and special to our family. We work hard all day and leave each day with a handshake, high-five, or hug! We are a team and want to excel together.
My Project
Our students are hardworking, dedicated, kindhearted individuals. Every day, our teachers and staff try to ensure that our students get the absolute best for their education and growth. Our outside area is a sad looking and unsafe area for our students. Our playground is falling apart, our slide is cracked, the pavement is crumbling, and we do not have enough options for safe playing and learning for our various ages of students. The land and space is there; we just need to transform it to transform our learning!
I want to provide an enriching and stimulating outdoor classroom and updated playground for our deserving students.
The items requested for the outdoor classroom will help our students in learning about the environment and be able to go outside to sit and observe the classroom gardens that will be planted. We will be working with our parents, students, and community to paint, build, and take ownership of our space.
The outdoor benches, mats, storage, and tables will be used for teachers to take students to work outdoors, or even to have lunch. The shade triangles will help us give students a more comfortable space to be during hot spring and fall days.
They will be using the rocks to create a unique look to our outdoor learning area, being added to painted rocks designed by each student at our school. This will be a colorful addition to bring a more welcoming appearance to the outside.
This has been a project that we have been working on since the beginning of the school year. We are gathering various donations and help to make this vision happen. If fulfilled, we will be working with our parents and community to bring this vision to life! We appreciate your support.
