This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is a Title I school in Norfolk, Virginia. The school is able to offer 100% free breakfast, lunch, and afternoon fruit/vegetable to all of our students. As a new teacher, I noticed that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am looking to keep things engaging and provide my students with a meaningful learning experience.
My students are motivated and want to show growth throughout the year.
They love math, and playing related programs on their Chromebooks. My students love to use a reading program to help increase their reading level and vocabulary.
My Project
My students are in need of new books for our classroom library. With the way the world is we need books that will continue to spark my students interest. Adding books to our classroom library will help to continue to have my students engaged reading.
With these books, they will help my students to become better independent readers and help raise their confidence in reading.
Adding new books to our classroom library will help students have a variety of books to chose from. Many students struggle with reading, but most of these books will be at their level. The books are also ones that will interest them and they will want to to pick up the book to read.
