My Students

You never get better if you keep doing the same ol' thing. These books will help vary the classroom library, so the students will learn more!

Our school is located in a small rural community with little to no variety in ethnicity.

My classroom is made up of second and third grade students. My students are curious, cleaver, and very smart. They are also active and competitive learners. I love to challenge them with new literature and learning topics.

My Project

Adding these books to the library, is a small step toward opening the students' minds to the world around them. Since we live in a small community, these books will show the students about the world around them without having to actually take them out of the classroom. I think through these books, students will learn more about diverse populations and that everyone is unique and differences should be respected.

I am a first year teacher.

I was very fortunate to have past teachers leave many of their books for the classroom library. I have many books, but I think that modern and new books will have a strong appeal to students. I am hoping to fill the library with a variety of different types of books to broaden their horizons, and I think these books are just the ticket! They will support open-minded individuals for future generations.
