Expanding Horizons: A Classroom Library Upgrade!

My Students
A large number of students are in low income families, and some students are extremely impacted by the socioeconomic status of their families. I am hoping to revamp my classroom library for students that cannot access books typically, and also to spark some excitement for reading among my students.
The students in my English class are 11th graders. The students in my Drama class are 9th-12th graders. Our school is in Eastern Kentucky, and we have a small student body.
My Project
Providing an updated library filled with classic literature, young adult literature, and nonfiction will open many doors for these students. As I have mentioned in the description of my students, a majority of these students come from low-income households.
Sometimes all it takes to change someone's outlook and mindset is reading one book. Being able to gift these students with an updated classroom library would be a major accomplishment and blessing in my first year of teaching. This will not only affect the students that I have in class now, but also the groups of students I will have in the future.
