My students need an iPad Pro to make educational videos and edit them. They also need the iPad Pro to practice typing written responses in class for their science and math activities.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are so amazing. Each of them have a different background and the majority of them struggle in different academic areas, but you would never know it watching them work. They have bonded together as a family and feel comfortable taking risks in front of one another.
The strong classroom community allows the students to think outside of the box and the students are now more willing to try new things, even if they fail.
This has been a huge transition in our classroom, and it has opened up more opportunities for our students to explore learning in more hands-on, engaging ways.
My Project
My students are very excited about making and editing videos that show what they know. They love making "informational videos" explaining new math concepts and science practices that have learned/mastered. Recently, with upgrade of computers in our school, the software we have used is not longer usable. We are hoping to transition to newer and more user friendly technology using iPads.
This iPad will not only serve as a computer, but a movie maker and imagination builder as well.
We are hoping to have more academic opportunities within our reach with the capabilities allowed with iPads. We are also going to help assist with morning announcements using our iPads.
