Expanding Creativity Through Printmaking

Help me give my students the tools they need for a printmaking unit including gel plates, acrylic paint, texture tools and printmaking paper. Gel plates are a versatile, fun, and reusable printmaking tool!

My Project

In this unit, students will learn the processes and materials used to create monoprints using gel plates. Gel plates are a fun way to make unique and creative prints and it is a medium that is accessible to students with all levels of artistic abilities. The results can give students unlimited possibilities for new papers to use in journals, collages, other mixed media art, or as prints that can stand alone as unique works of art! It is a fun and simple way to get past that fear of the blank page, make a mess, and really let go creatively to experiment with different techniques and ideas.
