My Students

The upcoming 5th grade is an outstanding group of students with a variety of talents and skills. They have shined in activities such as the Geography and Spelling Bees.

These kids are creative and hardworking, completing a variety of interesting Science and Social Studies projects for our school Fair this year.

As the new reading teacher for 2020-2021, I want to offer students a diverse collection of literature, non-fiction, poetry and prose to develop their reading skills and world view. Our rural community at times can stymie students' outlook on the world around them.

My Project

The books included in this project are an assortment of books covering many social and historical issues from a fiction and non-fiction view. I will use these books for read aloud and independent reading to tie together curriculum with relatable stories.

Children connect with literature that speaks to their own experiences or stories in their families.

These novels and books are award winning, thought-provoking, and inspiring to readers of all ages. They will be used together with curriculum lessons to give students a strong foundation and create a bridge to connect school work with real life.
