My Students

My students are the future of our community. We are a small town, and my kids come in hungry to gain knowledge from beyond our corner of the world. Unfortunately, due to our socioeconomic profile, many come in just plain hungry. Will you help us water these seeds that are just sprouting, full of potential? The best way to do that is to help us widen access to great books, be they fiction or nonfiction. These growing kids have diverse interests!

My Project

These exciting reading and teaching materials will help me provide relevant, engaging, and fun lessons for my diverse group of students. We are a small community with a great need for accessible classroom libraries and high-interest nonfiction texts. Teachers in our wonderful school often are charged with creating their own curriculum to prepare students for high-stakes tests. These materials will spark interest in my students and help me provide the crucial skills they need to be successful in middle school, high school, and beyond. I’ve chosen these materials based on the scope of student interest and varying reading levels. Thank you!
