My Students

I am a first year teacher at WES. We grew so much they had to add a third, fifth grade classroom. I will be using a group room downstairs for my classroom. This space is empty so it's a clean slate!

I will have seventeen to twenty, fifth graders in a small, rural area in southern Indiana.

A large percentage of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

My Project

The first step in a student's learning journey begins with a spark of curiosity. Storyworks has fascinating stories that ignite a sense of wonder using 0nonfiction, fiction, drama, poetry, or a surprising text pairing. Storyworks magazines inspire and empower elementary-school students with fascinating, authentic stories across the genres. With Storyworks, my students will be engaged and take ownership of their learning. It’s an all-inclusive resource that offers differentiation for students below or above level. It provides critical-thinking questions that are phenomenal and allows students to think deeply about the text!
