My Students
I teach Kinder through 5th grade Art in South Dallas. My scholars are highly imaginative and I am inspired everyday I work with them. Scholars are grateful when we get to explore materials and try new things in the art room.
We are a Title I school with a high volume of single parents, but the scholars are loved and excited to be a part of our school.
My Project
As of last week I cleaned out my art room looking for anything that scholars can use at home. I sent home 200 art go bags filled with paper, paint, paintbrushes, sharpies, colored pencils, crayons, oil pastels, chalk pastels, glue, glue sticks and anything I could give them that might spark their creativity during their in-home learning. Doing this has completely exhausted all materials in our art room, I am asking for replacement materials so that when the scholars come back to school they will still be able to create and expressing themselves.
