My Students

I see Pre K - 6th grade for 30 minutes once a week and then we have a Fun Friday where we see all students by grade level for 30 minutes. We try to review Classroom activities on all Fridays. I try to have the students as active as possible when i do have them.

My students are on the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to money, but they are wonderful and appreciative of the activities that I have them participating with in PE class.

We have a large number of overweight children at our school and if I can teach them some simple exercises that they can do at home while putting it to music and making it fun I will be making a difference in these children's lives. I love our school and our kids and they deserve to have the best.

My Project

Students will use the Skillastics Fitness mats in everyday PE classes as well as Fun Friday activities. The Skillastics Fitness game has 6 mats that students can be working at they will be divided into smaller groups where they will do a lot of running and exercising, This game makes exercising fun and without competition. Students will work together to go around the game mat as many times as they can at their own pace. The great part is that the mat gives detailed instructions along with written directions for each exercise.

Anything that I can teach these children, during the short time that I have them, about the importance and ease of exercises will result in a healthier child physically and mentally.

This project will be used in a variety of ways and with a variety of students.
