This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My second grade students attend a high poverty, Title I elementary school. All students receive free breakfast and lunch every day. My students come to school excited to learn and ready for new experiences. My classroom is where my students can feel welcomed, loved, and supported. Each year, it is my goal to provide my students with a happy and exciting classroom environment.
I want every student who comes into my classroom to feel that they are important and cared for.
It is a necessity that I have all I can to meet the needs of my students academically and emotionally.
My Project
During second grade students can really take off with their reading. Having fun places to learn and read make it a much more exciting task.
I want every student that enters my class to have a welcoming and comfy place to learn.
The large chairs will make any student want to sit down and read. Their calm and relaxing colors are also very inviting. The stools would be used at the teacher table, where students will really focus in on their reading skills. The stools bright colors will be fun, and sitting on a stool versus a classroom chair will be exciting for my students.
The tablets will also give my students another fun way to learn and read. Books and learning games can be downloaded on these tablets. A lot of my students need rewards and incentives throughout their day to promote positive behavior. These tablets would be a wonderful opportunity for my students!
