My students are the reason I come to work happy and eager everyday. They are such hard workers who continue to grow and strive despite all the challenges they encounter. They are intelligent, fun, excited about life and learning, good helpers, and care for one another. We work to build a family in my classroom, and learn about acceptance and friendship. We are at a Title 1 school, meaning that many students come from low income families. However, we as a community believe that all students should have equal opportunities to learn, and all will succeed!
There is so much going on in the world around us, but with media how it currently is, students do not always get the full picture of how the world grows, changes, and how it effects them. I want for my students to have the opportunity to understand culture, society, and world events with age appropriate material. How impactful for them as they grow up, especially being a Title 1 school, to be educated in not only in the core subjects but also with events that shape their lives. Scholastic News will allow them the opportunity to see the world in a whole new way.
