This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of individuals with mixed ability levels, many with mild/moderate or moderate/severe learning disabilities. This is the 2nd year of our full time music program. Every child here gets music education!

They love coming to music class, and I am eager to give them resources to facilitate their music development.

I inherited a very large, empty classroom and have been slowly building materials to help the kids play and sing. Music is so important for their brain development, and it reinforces learning in every other academic subject. We expect to see great things from our music program and are looking forward to filling the classroom with all things colorful, noisy, and musical.

My Project

Our students need high quality music curriculum to ensure our lessons are well sequenced and standards aligned.

Our music program has grown by leaps and bounds over the past two years, and I would love to stock our empty music room book shelves with well researched music curriculum that will leave a lasting impact on hundreds of students for many years to come.

These books are thoughtfully put together, and make all the elements of music making accessible to every learner. Help our school acquire the materials we need to ensure our music making continues to grow and flourish along with the students!
