My students need engaging math folder games, aligned with the Common Core, to boost their math skills and strengthen their math fluency during math workshop.
My school is a new STEAM school; the first and only elementary STEAM school in our district. As a new school and grade level, we are slowly building up our resources. When a child masters the art of creating, they will have the power to excel in all areas of our exciting STEAM curriculum! My students like to move around, engage in hands-on learning, collaborate with classmates, and follow learning routines in the classroom.
My students are creative, curious and innovative.
My classroom is the perfect representation of the diverse world around us. No matter what background my students come from, I strive to give them an engaging and enriching educational experience that is accessible to all.
With additional tools at their fingertips, students will be given the opportunity to enhance these exciting areas of learning. I am so excited for my group of second graders to become creative citizens in an ever-expanding world!
My Project
Math Workshop is very different than the traditional approach to math instruction. Math Workshop allows students to learn new math content each day, practice math strategies in a variety of ways, and reflect on learning through verbal or written sharing. The structure of math workshop makes it easier for students to participate in differentiated activities and build their confidence towards math.
Math is an important part of STEAM and as a new STEAM school, we are in need of more resources to help us launch Math Workshop.
Math folder games play a significant role in the Math Workshop framework. When playing math games, students boost their math skills, strengthen their fact fluency, and learn important social skills as they play in small groups.
