Last year, my students were kept at home most of the year like those all over the United Sates. This meant some stayed home, and some went to babysitters, or were put in charge of younger siblings. I am excited to have students back in the routine of school and to be able to help them have the stability that was lacking so much in the past year.
I have a wonderful group of diverse students who work hard each day, and I would love to be able to provide new and exciting rewards for them.
I work at a lower income school, so the students come to school first for love and support and then for learning.
My Project
My students spent the last year at home with virtual learning, so they are VERY motivated by rewards that are tangible, as they did not have access to this type previously. My goal is to have more exciting rewards for them to work towards with great behavior! We use Class Dojo at my school, so every Friday, students are able to cash in their points for rewards. These rewards, book marks, fidgets, erasers, and slime, are something they really look forward to. I am very excited to provide more variety to these rewards and give them something to work towards throughout the week!
