Exciting In-Person and Online Learning Environments in Chinese DLI Classroom

My Students

My students are in the Chinese Dual Language program. I have 50 ten-year-old students that are very excited about studying Chinese language art, the science units in Chinese and Chinese authentic lifestyle, food and so on. They are particularly excited about the opportunity to watch Chinese videos and cartoons to learn the language and do art projects to reinforce the knowledge they learn in class. The pandemic has made the learning process more challenging but as a teacher, I am trying to provide all the resources I have to make the learning experience better. My students come from middle income families and a strong community. They are curious, high level thinkers. My students want to be challenged and want to learn by discovery.

My Project

The resources I ask for this project will be used in my Chinese DLI classroom for both in person and online learning environments. The doc camera and mobile workstation will give the teachers an easy and efficient access to to deliver good quality online lessons to help the students who are not able to attend school and meanwhile the in-person students can also have a safe and exciting learning experience sharing and connecting with the virtual classmates. The testing dividers and bottle holders designed for classrooms will help my classroom to be more organized and also provide the students with a clean and healthy classroom setting.
