My students are struggling learners that never give up. They try their best to excel at learning. I am pleased with the efforts they give in my groups. Although what I am about to say is an opinion, and not fact, I believe that they are proud of their accomplishments. Each and every child participates in activities, and conversations. They are not afraid to be wrong because they have discovered that a wrong answer can clear up misconceptions for all.
I have included "7 Habits of Happy Kids" in my curriculum this year.
My students have grown into a group that celebrates each other. They do not pick on each other for differences, or wrong answers. Instead, they support each other with positive words. They have each written a journal to show how they reflect each of the 7 habits in their daily life.
The resources that I requested are all intended to make learning easier, and more fun for the struggling learners I work with throughout the school day.
The Gaiam Balance Disc Wobble Cushion allows for my students that have trouble staying seated to move around on their seats.
Although research is still coming in, many teachers have claimed success in using this seating with their students. The buzzers are for team and independent games and reviews. We already have one set of these in a fourth grade math class, and the students get excited just seeing them out for use. They never get tired of the fun sounds! The Gyro mouse will be used so that I will be able to move freely about the class, and still control what is on our interactive board. The students will be able to use it from wherever they are seated in the room, as well!
My goal is to make learning fun in hopes to instill a passion for life-long learning with every child.
