I teach at a Cancer Center, the world’s oldest and largest private cancer center. This hospital has devoted more than 130 years to exceptional patient care, innovative research, and outstanding educational programs.
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions!
They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! I try to make the time I spend with them as engaging as possible. I do this by integrating technology and hands-on activities into each lesson. My students love when it is time for school. It is an opportunity for them to take their minds off of the stress that comes along with being in the hospital and brings a sense of normalcy to their lives. Each day when I show up to their hospital room their faces light up and they ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
My Project
The use of a laptop will help my students focus on increasing their learning! By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
We live in a technology literate world, any interaction my students have with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
The hands-on activities, games, and read aloud books will make learning fun for my students and will help to bring a smile to their face during a time when they need it the most.
