Excited About Reading

Help me give my students bookmarks and a brochure holder to organize them! My students love grabbing a bookmark when they checkout out their books.

My Project

We all know that reading is exciting, but some students need some encouragement to discover just how exciting reading really is.

Bookmarks give my students something to look forward to about reading when they're not quite ready to look forward to reading itself.

I have over 300 elementary students come through my library each week, so I go through bookmarks fast! Most of the time I just have plain paper ones available and encourage my students to decorate them, but offering some cool colorful ones every now and then really builds excitement for reading and the library.

I am also asking for a brochure holder to organize and display bookmarks. I currently just have little buckets to organize bookmarks that students have to dig through, which means they spend extra time looking for the bookmark they want and the bookmarks get disorganized. With the brochure holder, students will be able to see all their bookmark options displayed while they are waiting in line, so they can easily grab the bookmark they want after checkout.

Bookmarks are such a fun (and functional!) part of reading and my students love them. Thank you for encouraging an excitement for reading in my library!
