The students in my class are energetic, hardworking, motivated learners. Our school is a public school with a learning environment focused on the integration of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) designed to help students learn how to solve real-world problems. We are part of a very large school system but our school is on the smaller side serving around 400 students in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. All students receive a free breakfast at school and around 75% get a free or reduced lunch. The number of AIG students has remained low with less than 15 students identified but continues to grow. Our under-served subgroups include Black, Hispanic, economically disadvantaged, and limited English proficient students.
My students love to share ideas and be active participants during lessons. When we are gathered on the carpet for whole group lessons, my students have difficulty seeing our charts on the wall when we reference them. An easel will make the lessons go smoother and would be easier for all students to see.
I would love for us to have mobile easel that would allow students to reference and record on as we work together.
We will use the easel to model during math, writing, and reading. Students will be able to come up to the easel to record their thoughts and ideas. The chart storage on the back will allow me to store charts for various lessons so they are easily accessible.
