Help me give my students a set of regulation indoor volleyballs for practice, volleyball cart to store them, and a set of team sweatshirts to keep the girls warm when we travel.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students on my girls' volleyball team are bright, athletic, capable young women. They love any opportunity to come together as a team and support each other, and the volleyball program is a great way for them to do that in the fall semester.
The young women on this team are deserving of adequate supplies to give them the best chance to succeed this season.
They are hard workers and need these supplies to create more opportunities for a winning season. They are so excited about this team and having the opportunity to play together!
My Project
These donations will make all of the difference to our team. To most girls in our high school, volleyball is a new sport. It is not a sport that they have had the opportunity to explore until now. Having enough indoor volleyballs to practice with will help get our team on an even playing level with other schools in our region. The sweatshirts will help make the girls feel more important in their school as well as keep them warm when we travel.
Women sports are so crucial to the girls at our inner-city school.
Playing on a team after-school keeps our students safe and engaged. At our school women's sports can quickly become overshadowed; having top of the line, professional equipment will help our team create competitiveness with fall male sports teams and hopefully bring more excitement for school into our girls' lives.
