Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing, they all strive to do their best work. They each set goals for themselves to achieve especially in reading, They work so hard and at times don't have the best home environment. They come to school to learn, have somewhere safe to go and be with their friends and teachers.
Many of my students are struggling readers and writers.
When they come to school my main focus is to help them be more confident in their reading and writing skills. I want to give them skills that they can take home and show their families.
My Project
These books will help my students become better readers and writers. The books will give my students multiple types of genres to read and help them find books and authors they like. The comprehension books will help my students build on the skills taught in third grade to better help them as they grow. Having more reading and comprehension materials will allow for my students to expand their reading and reading comprehension.
My students will use the books in their Dyad reading rotations.
In Dyad reading the students are reading aloud together. They read various types of books to better their fluency. They will use the comprehension books to help build their comprehension skills to better their understanding of text.
These materials will make a great impact on my students and allow for them to build confidence in their reading abilities. It will build their fluency and accuracy each and everyday.
