Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Flexible seating is an incredible way to ensure that all the students are able to be engaged in the learning. Providing different options for my students, allows them to independently make a choice that will best support their learning. Students get to learn important decision-making skills while finding a seating option that best helps them to concentrate on their learning.

Each student is special and unique and deserves a learning environment that best reflects and supports them.

By offering multiple types of seating arrangements I can cater best to all of my students.

The wobble chairs allow for students to stay in their seats, but they can still get their wiggles out. The lap desks allow students to leave their seats if they need to, but they still are able to complete their work. Regardless of where they decide to sit or move to, the students are still able to stay focused on their work.

The large timers are a great way for the students to not only learn about the passing of time but learn time management skills that will benefit them in the long run. By having a visual representation of how much time is left, they can learn to pace themselves to ensure that they are able to complete their work in time.
