My classroom is filled with a diverse group of eager learners who come to school ready to learn each day. We are moving and learning daily, from whole group discussions on the rug to small group activities to partner work and individual opportunities too. Together we are a team!
Many of my twenty-six students come from low-income families and diverse backgrounds.
My classroom is a co-teach classroom in an urban district. I have eight students on individualized education plans and five English Language Learners. Despite the many challenges that my kiddos face, they come in eager to learn and participate in their education.
My Project
My students will use these new materials to complete writing assignments. The colored inked pens will be used by my editors to go back into their writing and focus on one area to revise or edit. The use of color helps them remember what they are looking for and also keeps them engaged and excited to do the hard work. They will use the mechanical pencils to overcome one of the challenges within a classroom of always having a sharpened pencil. The sticky notes will be used to leave any revisions that were added to the sloppy copies of a writing piece.
Contributing to my project for editing materials will help to continue my students love for writing.
It will also help me to keep writing more interesting with the use of colored inked pens, mechanical pencils, and sticky note pads for writing assignments. We look forward to creating our wonderful writing pieces with our new materials.
