My Students

I have the opportunity to work with 70 students in first grade. They are an amazing group of kids with many different academic needs and deserve as much support as possible. Out of the 70 students in first grade, many students are receiving support in reading instruction.

We can’t wait to see how much our students will excel this year!

Our students are always willing to try new things and help others. We learn just as much from our students and they do from us!

My Project

Our students in first grade need IXL Reading to help provide individualized practice for specific skills in reading. Using this program will help prepare them to become 21st Century learners.

Using IXL Reading will allow each student the opportunity to be engaged in practicing literacy skills, on-level, daily.

All students will be assigned specific skills to practice based on their specific literacy needs at the time. Students will work through Reading Skills on IXL as one of their literacy stations. We will receive real-time data analysis of each child’s progress to allow us to make decisions for further instruction. This program allows teachers to detect students areas of growth so that they can be better served during guided reading groups.

IXL Reading is also excellent practice for the required district standardized tests, such as the NWEA MAP. This program provides questions formatted and worded in a way that will prepare students for this type of test. Students are also able to practice using their device to answer questions by dragging and dropping, filling in blanks, etc.
