Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The elementary school where I work is a Title I public school. Our students receive free or reduced-fee breakfast and lunch. The students are very diverse in their academics and have a large variety of behavioral needs. They are hard workers and want to succeed. This year has been very hard for them socially and emotionally.

My Project

My students deserve all the best, and that includes a comprehensive school counseling program with curriculum that best fit their needs. They also deserve the supplies that are needed to be successful and learn from these lessons.

In a school of just over 400 students, 100% of our students receive free or reduced-cost lunch, they deserve a furnished counseling suite that is safe and comfortable.

It is my hope to continue to provide my students access to the same opportunities that children in affluent districts enjoy. By funding this project, you will be helping me achieve that goal.

My goal from this project is to finally purchase a comprehensive elementary level school counseling program and give them supplies such as colored pencils in order to be engaged in the lessons.
