My students need an organizer to readily access needed materials for writing, math, science, social studies, etc. They also need a sturdy, heavy duty pencil sharpener.
"A #2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere." -Joyce A. Myers
How far a sharpened pencil will go! My students need a good sturdy pencil sharpener. Our hand crank one has not stood the test of time. We also need an organizer for quick storage and retrieval of much used items like extra paper.
My students are second graders that are funny, kind and generous.
They like being organized and ready to learn. I have a mixture of cultures and experiences in my classroom. One child has traveled across the United States while one has never left the county we live in. We are a real community. The students look after each other. Students make and sign get well and birthday cards for parents and grandparents plus help others read and practice math facts. They read and critique stories they have written while offering suggestions for improvement.
My Project
With an adjustable storage organizer students will be able to quickly access those materials that they always seem to need but don't need to be in their desk (markers, dry erase markers, construction paper, extra writing paper, coloring pencils, paper clips, etc. The crank pencil sharpener we have sharpens one side of a pencil. Children are using hand-held sharpeners and end with pencil shavings on the floor, in their desks and on the group rug.
Please help us get organized and keep the pencil shavings in the trash.
We need those pencils sharpened! No longer will children have to run and get the broom and dustpan to clean up the mess because a good quality sharpener will keep pencils ready to go. A storage organizer will allow materials to be in one central location instead of spread around the room or in a cupboard. Children will be able to get what they need without having to interrupt the teacher.
