Help me give my students the opportunity to create multiple pieces of artwork throughout the school year that would not be possible due to a very small budget.
My students are in serious need of basic art supplies to start off the school year. They are students from diverse backgrounds as well as being from low income and high poverty areas. There are slightly over 630 students and 100% of the student population receives free breakfast and lunch.
My students are very creative individuals who love to express themselves though art and I would like to give them the opportunity to grow and flourish as artists and individuals.
Through art, students are able to develop their motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision making and inventiveness. When students see the relationship art has with other disciplines as well as other aspects of their life, they are able to see the importance that art will have in each one of their futures.
My Project
The tagboard as well as tempera cake refills will make a great difference in my students learning as they will have endless of opportunities to create numerous projects and can build their stills of painting with little mess. All my grades pre k-5th will be benefiting from these supplies. With the blank daubers I plan on filling those with India ink and having the students use them to draw with. I have watched many other art teachers use this technique and I know my students have never been introduced to it before and will be something new for them.
I would love to give my students the opportunity to expand their creativity and imagination by having the necessary materials in order to achieve this goal.
