My Students

My class will have the opportunity to have a student with Down Syndrome and another student with Cerebral Palsy. They are both very independent students. Despite their disabilities, they want to do things on their own. I believe that allowing a student to develop independence is very important. It helps them to gain confidence and gives them stamina to overcome their disabilities.

In my classroom, I do my best to teach students to be independent.

One of the ways to do, this by giving them the tools needed to accomplish the varies tasks required.

My Project

Swinging on the playground provides many different benefits to a student. It strengthens the vestibular system, it gives the child a mood boost, it can also allow a teacher and student to bond, and don't forget it is just plain fun.

This is why even students with special need should be able to swing.

However, some students do not have the strength to hold themselves in a belt swing. The requested supported swing will allow those in our school with special needs to swing alongside the other students providing them with hours of fun and many more benefits to the teachers and students.
