Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am currently teaching in a Title I charter school in Lithonia, Ga. The students are eager to learn but resources are limited as funding only goes towards the public schools in the district.

Students can grow with great instruction, great instruction is derived from adequate resources.

Mathematics is a hands-on exploration subject where materials are needed to be successful in mastering the standard. My students are excited about learning mathematics and engaging in the different projects, assignments, and tasks given.

At the charter school, I also coach a talented group of ladies grades 6th - 8th grade.

My Project

These tumbling resources will build skills and character in our girls. Tumbling is an essential part to cheerleading in enhancing performances. With many of our girls not being able to afford a membership at expensive tumbling gyms, these tumbling mats will give them the same opportunity as others.

Tumbling builds character!

When cheerleaders learn how to tumble they perform at a higher more confident level because of the enhanced skill set. Learning how to tumble requires dedication, patience, and following directions to ensure you are performing the motions correctly. These things build responsibility and character in the cheerleaders. Tumbling Rocks!
