My students need more chapter books to enhance their reading. As second graders, they are becoming more fluent and more interested in chapter books. I need to have more of these books available for them.
I currently teach 2nd grade students in an inclusion classroom. This includes students with ADHD, speech and language disorders, autism, and Spanish Speakers. Most of my students are on free or reduced lunch. Even with these struggles, they come to school everyday, ready to learn and always put their best foot forward! Watching them this year, they have really grown in their reading abilities. You can help me by giving them more chapter books that they are interested in reading.
My Project
My students are in need of some more chapter books to read. As second graders, they are becoming more and more interested in reading these types of books. While I do have some chapter books for them, I do not have many. A lot of them are interested in the Magic Tree House books along with the Merlin Mission books. I would like to be able to have more of these available for them so they can continue their love of reading. My students are becoming strong readers because they are reading so much more independently. I would like to continue their motivation and dedication to keep on reading!
