My Students

The children in my fifth grade classroom are curious and love learning. We use a variety of learning strategies, technological tools, group work, and alternative seating to give each other what we need to learn.

Each child is aware that everyone has different strengths which enable them to learn in different ways.

Some students prefer visual learning while others choose aural, reading/writing, and/or kinesthetic activities. Knowing that we all have individual strengths helps us build empathy for each other as we seek to overcome our challenges.

My Project

Every child wants to seek answers to their questions, but some cannot read the text that matches their intellect and maturity. Almost twenty percent of the students in my classroom face severe learning challenges that hinder their ability to work independently.

The C-Pen is a device that reads any text to a child anywhere!

With this device in our classroom, all students can access the same information as their peers. This builds confidence in students because they can develop their ideas and share them with peers. True learning comes from the synergy between inquisitive minds and helps students develop higher level thinking and problem solving skills they need for a technologically advanced world.
