I am a Pre-K Special Needs Teacher at a title one low income school. The students in my classroom all have disabilities but they all enjoy learning. Circle time is a very important part of our day. Everyday in circle time I teach my students new concepts, talk about the weather, seasons, and sing songs that teach the alphabet, numbers and more. At this time we sit together on the floor. My students love circle time and look forward to the new concepts they learn on a daily basis. In my classsroom the carpet is 22 years old and in very bad shape. I hate for my little children to be on it and I have requested it be replaced many times with no success. It would be wonderful to have a new clean rug for my students to sit on while learning in circle time. I am writing this proposal in hopes to get a rug that has a place for everyone! It is 9x12 feet and has 30 large, colorful squares. These squares will provide the students with their own boundaries and space. It is made of rugged, soil-resistant nylon, it will last for many years and provide a clean enviornment for many many students. It would also be a teaching tool for colors and shapes. This would be a wonderful addition to our classroom and provide my students will a cleaner, safer learning enviornment for many years to come. Thank you so much for considering my proposal.
