This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 26, amazing first-grade students! I'd love to create the perfect year for them. I'd love to help them become as obsessed with reading as I am!

These 26 students "come" to school each day with smiles.

Shouldn't they love what they do?

From picture books to chapter books, every child in my classroom finds a favorite book. We spend our morning reading, our afternoon reading, and every moment in between. We write books, we read books, we use reading with math, science and social studies. If you're in my classroom, chances are you leave with a joy of reading.

My Project

I am so glad to be part of Team Glen Flora. At our school we have over 500 students. We have spent the entire year 100% remote learning and we have no plans of coming back anytime soon.

With Team Glen Flora, family comes first, which is why I need your help.

With this project I will be able to help create family experiences for our students.

While our families stay home due to Covid, winter temperatures ruin many outside plans. We hope to award families with fun experiences, like board games to play and create movie night snack baskets for a cozy winter night. Who doesn't love family time and Yahtzee? With your help we'll also be able to create movie night snack kits, art kits, and reading kits for children to do by themselves or as a family. We're excited to offer incentives with Subway gift cards and all these great activities!
