Everyone Can Be Successful With Supply Help From the Library Part 2
Help me give my students colored markers, pencils, and glue so they will have access to materials in the library to complete their class work and projects.
My school is a Title I school that serves approximately 400 students in grades 6-8. One hundred percent of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and some have no permanent home. Despite this, my students work extremely hard to overcome the many obstacles that they face on a daily basis.
One of the best parts about my school is that we have such a diverse background of students.
Many might not come from a prosperous background, but they soak up every opportunity they have to learn, and this project will help the library gain materials that will help ensure all of my students have materials to be successful.
My Project
Every day, you can come into my library and see students coming in and out. They are there to get books to read, do research, build in the maker area, or work on a class project. This is why the library is the center of our school and where students frequently go to first for help.
As a librarian, I can guide students through the research and provide them with a place to put their projects together, but unfortunately, not all of my students can afford to get the basic supplies needed for their class projects.
It is so hard to see kids come in without the materials they need and I don't always have the supplies to give them. This project will help me provide materials such as markers, pencils, and glue for my students so they can all be successful in the classroom, because a child's economic status should never hold them back from excelling. Every student deserves access to materials to be successful.
