My 6th grade students are ready to learn using hands on projects. My students do not have the resources to bring these materials with them. I want to make sure I do not have to say this year, "we don't have the funding for that." We will be working on STEAM and STEM projects the entire year in order to make sure all learning styles are me
My goal is to allow my students to fall in love with science on day one.
We will begin this journey on August 22 and will not stop until the last day of school. Teaching and learning will happen every day. Period.
In our room we will be creating electricity using our Snap Circuits. Sixth grade students have trouble understanding how we use electricity and how it forms. If we have Snap Circuits they will get to see LIVE how electricity works! Students will create generators, wind turbines, simple and parallel circuits using Snap Circuits Snaptricity! My students need to see how electricity is all around us. Students will see hands on how one wrong button can cause an entire power outage.
In science we will do many STEAM challenges.
In multiple STEAM challenges we need tape. This tape will help create the engineering mindset.
