My Students
This school year, I teach a group of first-grade students ages 6 to 7. These students live in an area of southwest Florida that is often not noticed for accomplishments. My classroom demographic is made up of a majority of low-income families as well as immigrants. The students are predominantly Hispanic and are bilingual. By promoting different types of learning, including visual learning, these students will shine. I want to offer as many different types of learning to help my students succeed.
I want my students to have opportunities that promote learning and success.
My Project
Students focus should be on academics and never on whether or not they have the necessary supplies to complete their work. This project includes daily supplies such as highlights, Expo markers, and pencils. Also included in this project are clipboards for students to use with our flexible seating. Each student will have their own clipboard to use every day during centers. I am also requesting a trimmer, scissors, and clips.
These are supplies students will be using every day to enhance their educational experience. There are packs of different color papers and cardstock that will allow me to differentiate student work by different color topics and assignments. By color coding their learning my young first-grade students will be able to identify their work easily.
