Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a socio-economically disadvantaged neighborhood. 99% of my students are Hispanic or Latino, 91% of my students receive free or reduced lunch. We have a number of students with broken families and working parents. I would like for my classroom to have everything they need to make the most out of their education. To provide them with a home away from home with things that they may not be exposed to within their own family.
I try my best to provide my student's with as much as I can.
Unfortunately, it isn't always possible to provide them with everything they deserve. Denying them what they deserve is limiting their potential.
My students love to learn and love to be creative. They thrive when they are using their creativity and imagination. Not only are they creating art, but they are socializing, grappling, and problem solving while still having fun; my students learn best when they enjoy the activity. I plan to use the Scan n Cut Machine and the printer to create special designs that my students can use on cards for special occasions, holiday art projects and to create bulletin boards to proudly display their work.
My Project
I want my student to learn the importance of being a good citizen on this Earth. Part of being a good citizen is learning how to help preserve the resources we have.
We need badge parts to make badges to wear for Earth Day.
Since everyday is Earth Day, they will wear their badge to remind people to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The badge parts will also be used to make recognition buttons when they reach a learning goal they accomplish.
I'm also asking for some Earth Day books that are at my students level of learning so they can learn ways to help the Earth whenever possible. They can learn about recycling, reducing waste, and reusing materials. By supporting our project you will be helping my students learn to be responsible citizens.
