Help me give my students community worker materials to learn about family and community!

My students seek independence every day! They are young scientists, doctors, dancers, mathematicians and, most importantly, our future. The majority of my students reside in the inner city of Boston. One hundred percent of my students receive free or reduced-rate lunch. Despite the odds that are against them, they are eager to learn! They are curious about the world that they live in. Every day, they bring a smile to school because they know that they will learn something new with me.
My students come from a neighborhood in the inner city of Boston.
They are little people with big minds! They are curious about the world that we live in! Every day they come to school with huge smiles on their faces because our classroom gives them a sense of joy. My students are the future of this nation. They are our future doctors, scientists, football players, teachers, etc. Despite the odds, my students amaze me every day! At the age of five and six, my students resemble the fearless learner that I once was.
Our first thematic unit for kindergarten is community/family. What a beautiful way to start the year off by putting an emphasis on how much we appreciate our community workers and essential workers. Our students will learn about what it truly means to be a part of a community and what community means to them. They will also learn about how it feels to be a part of a family and a community within our classroom environment. Students will be able to learn about the essential worker and community workers role and they can show us what they learned by dressing up and enacting these roles!
I would like to teach my students about community/ essential workers and their job during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the career customs, my students will have the opportunity to pretend that they are performing these roles. This will help them build their vocabulary, problem solve, enhance their social emotional skills, all while playing! I would like to incorporate puppets into my play center. The career puppets will help my students retell stories and events that has taken place. The puppets will encourage and give my students confidence in their own learn. Why doesn't love puppets? I love watching my kids laugh and smile when they see a puppet! I really would like for my students to have these puppets in our library as a resource for reading and story acting. I've searched for printable community workers pictures online and I did find a few. However, I really like the poster pack from Lakeshore because it is very diverse. It is very important for my students to see a representation of themselves in posters and environmental print. I would like to use these posters as a teaching aid, so my students can have a visual learning tool available.
