MMS is full of energetic seventh grade students who are eager to learn! The school is located in a very rural area, and most students come from low SES households.
Our school is a Title I School, and 100% of our students receive free meals.
The population is becoming increasingly diverse, with several languages spoken! In science class not only are we developing critical thinking and problem solving skills, but also literacy skills and mastery of the English language.
Despite our challenges, our students work hard to rise above their circumstance and make the most of their educational experience.
My Project
As we approach the middle of the school year, many students are needing to restock their basic supplies- like pencils, markers, and glue. The supplies purchased or provided by myself or the school at the beginning of the year have long run out. Unfortunately, many of my students are unable to obtain their own supplies, especially near the holiday season which is already a financial strain for many of their families.
This project will help provide the daily essentials my students need to participate in class activities and be prepared and successful students.
