Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our students live in the Englewood area of Chicago, where many of them are affected by everyday trauma and violence. Most of our families face day-to-day struggles and no matter what they continue to be resilient by not allowing challenges to keep them from coming to school every day. Our students exhibit perseverance and continued strength to overcome anything.

These canvases and art supplies will allow our students to be celebrated and have an opportunity to participate in an attendance celebration that will celebrate their excellence and perseverance for coming to school every day.
