This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have a wonderful group of First Grade students who are always excited about responsibility and learning.

My students love to describe and talk about what we are doing in our classroom.

Our school is preparing our students to become Life Long Learners. Help me brighten up my classroom with new rugs! I am moving to a new classroom this year and I need rugs to help create inviting learning spaces for my new students!

These rugs are going to be used for 4-6 six hours of the day where most of our learning takes place. They will also serve as a tool for learning numbers and mathematical operations.

My Project

Have you ever sat on the floor? Uncomfortable, right? It makes your body ache quickly. My first graders think so too. They would love to have some comfy, cozy rugs to sit on in our classroom.

If my project is fully funded my class will use these rugs as a learning tools to add and subtract, to increase their counting from one to one hundred.

These rugs will also provide space and comfort during our Math lessons.

They will be able to focus better because they will feel better. The bright colors, numbers, and designs will open up new conversations in the classroom. Increasing student comfort will increase learning in the classroom.
