ENSA is a Title I Magnet STEM school. We are a quilt of incredibly different students with very unique needs. Art is a tool that unifies us. However, we need very different tools to help unify us!
I am working on creating a tool box of scissors that help my special friends learn to cut.
I need adapted scissors, special pencil grips, and other materials to help students with special needs be successful in the art room.
My Project
My students need a little extra help to focus in the art room. These adapted materials will help them create art without their dysregulated bodies getting in the way.
The materials in this project will help students express themselves independently through art!
Scissors are a very hard tool to adapt on my own so I prefer to have students used loop scissors. This small, but expensive modification helps students gain independence in their art.
My limited budget goes to consumables like paint, paper, glue, and markers. This special project will help students for years to come!
