My students need a HERO organizational system, which consists of 20 binders, 2 packs of clear sheet protectors, 20 pencil pouches, pencils, pens, highlighters and post-it notes.
I teach 6th/7th grade Special Education in PA. Students at my school participate in a looping program, which means they remain with the same team for 2 years. As we prepare for our 2nd year together, I am fully aware of just how needy our families are. Many students fall in the high poverty range. It would be so exciting to provide all my students with their own school supplies.
Imagine starting school without your HERO (Have Everything Ready & Organized) binder. Worse yet, imagine walking into your classroom and seeing your friends with their new "back to school" items and you have nothing!
I would like ALL my students to arrive on the 1st day and have their own HERO binder and supplies. Many families are struggling to meet their basic needs. I want to remove the stress of financing supplies and focus their attention on learning!
It seems like such a simple request to supply a binder and basic supplies, but to my students it would make a huge difference.
